Momo is based on a book called Momo by a German author, Michael Ende. The routine, slow-paced life of the townspeople is interrupted with the arrival of Momo, a seemingly orphaned girl without a past who quickly becomes the favorite of all of her neighbors. Momo notices that something drastic is happening in the town. All of a sudden, the formerly kind, patient townspeople become obsessed with saving time and money and no longer have time for their friends, especially Momo. Momo finds out that those responsible for this are the Men in Grey inhuman ''Time Thieves'' who cunningly plant the idea of time-saving among the population, and then somehow steal the saved time and use it to continue the existence of their own kind. The sinister influence of the Men in Grey affects the whole city: life becomes sterile, devoid of all things considered time-wasting, like social activities, recreation, art, imagination, or sleeping. In reality, the more time people save, the less they have; the time they save is actually lost to them.

A theatrical experience set in an alternate fictional world. A world of Dominitia. Somewhere unseen, unknown and unheard of. Where the woodlands come alive in a kingdom set in the realm of fantasy. The play features 4 Shakespearean plays and it's characters interwoven into each other, connected by a celebration of the royal wedding of King Claudius & Queen Gertrude and the events surrounding it. A Dominitian wedding. A wedding of power, betrayal and greed.Amongst the colors of the celebration, we witness the dunnest smoke that lies beneath it. Noble Jews as ruthless fathers. Scarred and wounded royal hearts veiled with riches and glitters. Love machinated by other worldly enchantments. Greatest warriors as the greatest tricksters. Let us revisit those stories. Let us have them blended in a goblet. A Shakespearean cocktail of love's complexities and vengeance. Through laughs and tears. Let us witness a mere catastrophic spectacle cocooned into a nutshell to ask us a question, That's how it started??Perhaps, sometimes the answer to the question is the question itself.

A long feud between the Montague and Capulet families disrupts the city of Verona and causes tragic results for Romeo and Juliet who fall in love, but cannot be together. A secret marriage force the young star-crossed lovers to grow up quickly for Juliet is to be wed to another. Juliet takes a sleeping potion that makes her appear to be dead for some time. Unaware of this, Romeo goes to her tomb and drinks poison. When Juliet awakes she sees Romeo dead and takes her own life.Director's Note:The feeling of love seems to have been from time immemorial, even before the dawn of civilization. Love has transcended time and space, and has been persisting and flourishing perennially. Shakespeare's drama, Romeo Juliet, encapsulates the very essence of this timeless love .With a social responsibility, we are staging this great drama to sensitize the youth today about the value and significance of true love. Today's love is polluted, obscene and self-centered. As a result, now we see violence and deaths around us. Love has to remain untainted by the man-made barriers like religion, caste, nationality and hierarchy. Love is pure; love sustains; love is everlasting. Love should not be subjected to rashness. Love needs restraint, and is difficult to comprehend. When love is understood in proper perspective, disappointment disappears and enmity evaporates. Lack of restraint and rashness are responsible for the deaths of the great lovers, Romeo and Juliet. Dear viewers, I try to portray the genuineness and greatness of love through the staging of this play. I want to sanitize love. I dedicate the performance to true love. It also helps my students at Theatre Lab form the cast and gain in the theatrical experience of staging a deathless classic. It is hoped that through this performance, they will also get noticed by the Tamil film industry. The production would not be possible but for the brave and gracious efforts of the cast, crew, designers, technicians, artists, friends and well wishers of Theatre lab. It is our sincere hope that our hard work will be a blessing to you and bring glory to God (Art).
