Amboli Herping Camp- A Monsoon Wildlife Expedition
Experience the magical monsoon wilderness of Amboli, nestled in the mist-covered Sahyadri Range. Often referred to as the "Cherrapunji of Maharashtra," Amboli is one of India's premier destinations for observing amphibians and reptiles in their natural habitat.
Join us for a 3-day guided Herping Camp to explore the rich biodiversity of the Amboli Ghat and its surrounding forests and lateritic plateaus. During the monsoon, these habitats come alive with an extraordinary diversity of frogs, toads, snakes, lizards, and other fascinating wildlife, including several endemic and threatened species. Participants will also have excellent opportunities for macro nature photography while learning about the ecology, behaviour, and conservation of these remarkable animals.
Led by expert local guides and experienced naturalists from HK's Learning Point & Eco-services LLP, this expedition is ideal for wildlife enthusiasts, nature lovers, students, researchers, and photographers seeking an immersive learning experience in one of the Western Ghats' biodiversity hotspots.

Situated at an elevation of approximately 2,260 ft (690 m) in Amboli, the region receives heavy monsoon rainfall, creating ideal conditions for a spectacular diversity of amphibians and reptiles. The lush evergreen forests, streams, waterfalls, and lateritic plateaus make Amboli one of the finest destinations in India for monsoon herping.
