the great Indian freedom fighter Lokmanya Tilak bestowed the honour of Manacha Dusara Ganapati (second among the most honoured) to Tambdi Jogeshwari Ganeshotsav Mandal in 1893.
3. Tulsi Baug Ganpati
Located in the crowded Tulsi Baug market. Attractive tall idol with the most beautiful feet.
4. Guruji Talim Ganpati
Guruji Talim is given the third place in the honoured Ganpati& list in Pune. A symbol of unity between Hindus and Muslims of the city. Dates back to 1887.
5. Kesari Wada Ganapati
To unite the nation against British rule, Lokmanya Tilak began the community celebration of Ganesh Festival at the Kesari Wada. Initially, in 1894, the Ganpati Mandal was erected at Tilak’s residence at Vinchurkar Wada, Kumthekar road. In 1905, the idol was brought to its present location at Kesari Wada.
6. Dagdusheth Ganapati
Temple was started in 1893 by Dagadusheth Halwai (a sweetmeat seller who became a wealthy businessman) at the request of his Guru.
7. Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati
In 1892, it was the first community celebration of Ganesh Festival.
