M. V. Rajamma was an Indian actress, producer and playback singer who has worked in Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu film industry with more than 150 films to her credit. She was one of the early women film producers in India. Rajamma had an illustrious career where she played both heroine and mother of South Indian superstars such as MGR, NTR, Shivaji, and Rajkumar. She made her Tamil debut with the blockbuster Uthama Puthiran (1940). In 1943, she produced Radha Ramana, which was a runaway success and introduced Balakrishna and G. V. Iyer.

Some of her notable works are Madanakamarajan (1941), Bhakta Prahlada (1942), Yogi Vemana (1947), Gnana Soundari (1948), Parijatham (1950), Zamindar (1952), Karkottai (1954), Thangamalai Ragasiyam (1957), School Master (1958), Makkala Rajya (1960), Gaali Gopura (1962), Kungumam (1963), Karnan (1964), Thayi Devaru (1971), Badi Panthulu (1972), and Daari Tappida Maga (1975). The veteran artist left for the heavenly abode on 23rd April, 1999.
