A recipient of Kannada Sahitya Parishat`s Kavirathna Award, Nagendra Prasad has penned over three-thousand songs for around nine-hundred movies in a career spanning over two decades. He has also received multiple Karnataka State Film Awards and Filmfare Awards for his work in movies like Sathya (2010), Ambareesha (2014), Muddu Manase (2015) and Chowka (2017).

In addition to songwriting, the multi-talented has also ventured into screenwriting, direction, composing and acting. While the romantic dramas Nalla (2004) and Meghave Meghave (2009) are among his notable directorial credits, Nagendra has also appeared in movies like Dharma (2004) and Guruji (2016).

Other significant film credits as a lyricist in recent times include the Puneeth Rajkumar starrer Anjaniputra (2017), the comedy Victory 2 (2018), the crime thriller Kavacha (2019) and Kaarmoda Saridu (2019).
