
Karl Lutchmayer is a renowned as a concert pianist and a lecturer. A Steinway Artist, Karl performs across the globe, and has worked with conductors including Lorin Maazel and Sir Andrew Davis, and performed at all the major London concert halls. He has broadcast on BBC Television and Radio, All India Radio and Classic FM, and is a regular chamber performer. A passionate advocate of contemporary music, Karl has also given over 90 world premieres and had many works written especially for him.
This concert presented by The BSM is special since, besides, playing virtuoistic piano solos, he will be collaborating with musicians from BSM.
Karl will be joined by members from Cappella Bangalore and The Bangalore Men, led by Jonas Olsson, to present excerpts from "Liebeslieder Walzer, Op. WoO 52" and "In Stiller Nacht Op. WoO 34 No. 8" by Austrian composer Johannes Brahms. He and the BSM string quartet led by Anant Kamath will perform Antonín Dvořák`s (1841-1904), Piano Quintet No. 2 in A major, Op. 81, B. 155, (piano, 2 violins, viola, and cello)
