About The Event

Week 1 (30 & 31 May): Reap & Heap (Harvest Experience)


In Week 1, you get a

chance to explore the traditional art of harvesting paddy and heaping it. From

knowledge passed down by farmers with generations of experience, get the real

feel of farming, as you experience cutting stalks of paddy yourself!

But it does not end there. Follow harvesting

up with the exciting process of heaping the cut paddy stalks together.

Feel the satisfaction of partaking in the

production of the food you consume yourself.


Week 2 (6 & 7 June): Stalk to Sack (Thrashing Experience)


Week 2 offers the answer to the question, How

do we get grains of rice from the plant?

Here, then, you have the opportunity to get an

insight into the process of the separation of the rice grain from the stalk.

In fact, you get to participate in this

process yourself! Experience the traditional thrashing techniques and fill

freshly processed paddy into bags.
