About The Event

Acting Workshop, Step Into the Spotlight!


1-Day, Total 5 Hours of Workshop (9:30 AM to 2:30 PM)


If you have ever been curious about acting or improving acting skills but did not know where to start, this 1 day, 5-hour workshop is the perfect place to begin. Designed for individuals with little to no acting experience, or for those with experience, it offers a warm introduction to the world of acting while equipping you with the essential tools & performance skills.


The Activities:


Part 1:


Introductions & Opening Prayer: Setting the stage for a creative journey

Dynamic Warm-up & Voice Exercises: Loosen up, energize, and prepare your body and mind for performance.

Interactive Discussion & Theory: Why do you want to be an actor?

Theater & Fun Activities: Theater activities offer numerous benefits, including building confidence, fostering empathy, and refining communication skills. They encourage active listening, quick thinking, and teamwork while providing a safe and creative platform for exploring diverse perspectives and managing stress.

Quick Break: We will have a 2-minute break to relax, drink water, and interact with one another. Please remain within the workshop venue during the break. Going outside is not permitted, as it may disrupt or delay our upcoming activities.

Scene Practice: A scene or short script will be given to each participant to read and prepare for 10 to 20 minutes. After the preparation time, the scene will be performed by the participants according to the number of characters in the script, with each participant taking on a suitable role.

Feedback & Review: Sharing individual feedback and reviews for each participant who performed in the scene.

Part 2:


Very Important: After the short break, we will have a theory session on the topics mentioned below

a) Channel That Fear: Avoid showing fear; instead, use it as a tool

b) Voice, body language: Working on voice and body language

c) Creating Inner World: You create your own inner world to live in the character

d) Scene Practice discussion: Being involved in a scene & creating the environment

e) Resonance in acting - Real emotion needs space

f) Relationship with co-actors: How important is this person to me in a scene?

g) Inner images in acting: Be ready with the inner images before the act starts

h) Rhythm in dialogues: Use of pauses, silence, minimal movement, change in eye focus

Improv Script & Performances: A scenario based on the given theme will be provided, or you may choose your own scenario to perform. Transform instant ideas into a great performance. Express yourself through comedy, horror, or emotional drama. (This will be a group & individual performance, both.) You will have 10 to 20 minutes to prepare for the improv performance.

Feedback & Review: Sharing individual feedback and reviews for each participant who performed in the scene.


----------Short Break---------


Part 3:


Monologue Performance: Every participant is required to perform a monologue. A script will be provided to all participants; alternatively, you may present a monologue based on your own idea or concept.

Final Performance: Participants will perform an intense movie scene after selecting their characters. The scene will be explained in advance, and preparation time will be provided before the performance.


Note: Please note that a movie scene performance may be conducted if time permits, depending on the completion of the preceding activities.


Part 4:


Q&A: Ask questions and clear your doubts

Heads up about the projects & selection: A brief about the selection process for our ongoing & upcoming projects

Anything you want to discuss? : Bring your ideas and thoughts for shorts, plays and movie projects

Group photo & video bytes: A group photo and performance videos will be captured for upload on our Instagram page, nstheatertroupe or Naatyasuchi Theater. We will also record short video bytes of participants sharing their workshop experiences.


This immersive session will not only give you practical acting tools but also the chance to connect with fellow creatives, share stories, and build a supportive network in a friendly environment.


Things to keep in mind:

*Be curious to know things, Be active and proactive, Be free, Be comfortable

*Sessions will be interactive and we all will make it more interactive and engaging with the activities

*Do not put yourself into comfort zones; be bold and ready to make mistakes. Then learn from it to move forward and take better actions

*Do not feel shy about the scene's performance.

*Whether you are a beginner or carry some experience in acting, often ask questions (clear your doubts), understand the activities or scenarios and perform accordingly by giving your 100%

VERY IMPORTANT: We are looking for actors for our upcoming theater projects, short movies/web series, and feature movie projects. Our main focus now is finding the right actors for our debut feature film by Byalal Studios. The best performers in the workshop will get a chance to be part of our projects, which depend on scripts and characters.

Comfortable casual wear or track pants


Important Guidelines:

*Arrive on time to maximise your learning experience

*Maintain discipline and professionalism throughout the session

*You are welcome to bring your lunch or go out for lunch during the break. Kindly return within 35 minutes to help us stay on schedule.

*If you choose to have lunch at the workshop venue, please ensure that the area is kept clean and tidy. Kindly dispose of any waste properly and help maintain the cleanliness of the space

*The workshop will be conducted in Kannada, English, Hindi, Telugu & Tamil (that is, you can perform the scenes in any of these languages).

*This workshop is designed exclusively for Beginners to Experienced

*Bring your curiosity, energy, and openness to learn, and step confidently into the world of acting as the workshop will be fun, creative and much more
