About The Event
The Aditya Prakash Quintet is a contemporary ensemble operating at the intersection of raga, improvisation, chamber music, and experimental song. Rooted in the melodic intelligence of South Indian classical music while drawing from jazz, folk, and avant-garde traditions, the quintet creates music that is both meticulously shaped and deeply human. Each performance unfolds as a living dialogue—between tradition and innovation, structure and freedom, intimacy and intensity.
At the center is vocalist and composer Aditya Prakash, whose work embodies a singular global voice in improvised music. Informed by Carnatic training, experimental composition, and cross-genre collaboration, Prakash treats melody as both a spiritual and social force. His singing moves fluidly between raga articulation, timbral exploration, spoken text, and wordless sound. His compositions function as open frameworks, inviting deep listening, instinctive response, and continual reinvention in performance.
