About The Event
ALAIGAL, which means waves in Tamil, stands as the most apt name to represent our state of Tamil Nadu through the language itself, the waves on its beautiful coastline and the sound waves of music we showcase.
A wide and massive lineup featuring the likes of world fusion music maestro Prem Joshua & Band along with Andrea Jeremiah, Sapta, Rjd, Sam Shroff, Arjun Hora, Akash and many more spread over two days with February 9th at Four Points By Shereton, Mamallapuram, and the 10th at Chariot Beach Resort, Mamallapuram.
We have 3D installations to help travel through the waves of time where we take you on a journey to the sunken continent and the origins of mother earth expressed through the folklore of India and other parts of the world.
Alaigal offers a platform for an artist from all over the world and India to express their talents and share time through performances and workshops. Virtual Reality artists will work on bringing folklore history and science together to make a visual reality.
The event includes various activities like :
Freeflow arts or fire, darts, hoops and hats, live music bands, DJ`s, food stall, amazing installations, camping area, Wellness centre, Satsang session, permaculture workshop, environmental consciousness, fashion show, Tea Ceremony, poetry recitals, Interactive learning, gathering of endangered crafts, shadow theatre, basket weaving, etc.
Other activities for Kids include: Face painting, kids market, smart café, A.T.B(Awareness through the Body), Learning Center and other interactive activities
Note: Children at the age of 12 and below can walk in free for the event.
