Anvaya - A Confluence of North & South
Experience an enchanting evening of Indian classical dance as ANVAYA - A Confluence of North & South brings together two distinguished dance traditions - Kathak and Mohiniyattam
Presented by Lasya Akademi of Mohiniyattam and Behala Global Academy of Fine Arts, the programme features celebrated Sangeet Natak Akademi awardees exponent Vidushi
Saswati Sen, disciple of Pt. Birju Maharaj, and renowned Mohiniyattam exponent Vidushi Pallavi Krishnan.
The evening presents two evocative dance productions:
Basabdatta - A choreographic interpretation inspired from the works of Rabindranath Tagore exploring love, longing, devotion, compassion and spiritual strength choreographed by Vidushi Saswati Sen and performed by the students of Pandit Birju Maharajji's Kalashram and disciples of Pandit Birju Maharaj and Vidushi Saswati Sen.
Kunti - A Mother's Plight - A powerful dance drama portraying the emotional journey of Kunti, exploring motherhood, sacrifice, guilt and resilience.
ANVAYA celebrates the meeting of two great streams of Indian classical dance, where movement, music, poetry and storytelling come together in a memorable cultural experience.
