About The Event
Art for a Cause by Samarpana is a fundraiser in aid of RASA - Ramana Sunritya Aalaya's projects to empower underprivileged people with special needs. This music and dance festival features full-length programmes by three of the brightest names in the art scene today - Bharatanatyam by the dynamic, young couple Renjith and Vijna, Carnatic music by child star Sooryagayathri, and a Bharatanatyam dance drama by the wildly popular school Sridevi Nrithyalaya who will present their much sought after 'Srinivasa Kalyanam'. Samarpana is a Not for Profit Trust aimed at propagating Indian classical art forms and helping the underprivileged. The first edition of Art for a Cause works for a dual purpose.
The first is to promote art that is relevant to today's audience by providing a major platform to those artists whose work does not dilute classicism or uproot the structure of Indian Classical Arts. The revenue generated from the ticket sales of this event will go towards building the lives of those in need, in this case, underprivileged people with special needs. Thus, our second objective is to harness the potential of the arts to benefit society at large. Each ticket sold goes towards making a positive difference in the life of one person and in this manner, the collective impact will be phenomenal. With just one ticket, you will be able to attend all the three programmes of the festival!
