Bhavai workshop. May 1 to 4, 7 to 12 with a short performance on the last evening. Taught by Archan Trivedi who learned at Darpana from Bhavai master Chimanlal Naik, and Kailash Pandya. Evenings from 6 to 8. Fees Rs 5000. Discount coupon for the Café. The course will have live table to accompany Archan. The course will cover birth and history, Asahit Thakar and his contribution, the Veshas, Darpana’s intervention in creating new Veshas, structure and elements, movement, music, how to create a new Vesha, Bhavai as a social commentary using irony and humour and costumes. Participants will write a short two minute Vesha and perform it.
