About The Event
Harpriya Bains is a mom-turned-comedian challenging stereotypes with her hilarious take on
housewives and societal expectations. Her comedy is inspired by the daily life of mothers and
wives. Through her comedy, she highlights the absurdity of Indian patriarchy and the pressures
faced by women in desi households while also handling the craziness of being a mother of two
Gen Z daughters.
She has been doing comedy for the last 6 years and released her debut YouTube video "Carry on
Mummy" in 2023 that went viral. Her solo stand-up show, “Carry on Mummy” is popular among
audiences, and her performances are loved and appreciated. She has performed this solo at
numerous comedy clubs, corporate shows and private events in over 25 cities across the country
and also done a show in London.
Married for 20 years to an army officer and a mother of two daughters, she feels no one listens
to her at home anymore, so in her mid-life (crisis moment), she decided to find strangers who
may not just lend her an ear but maybe even laugh at her jokes.
