About The Event
Dastaan is a tribute to the musical memories of the yesteryears. Santhosh Hegde's tryst with music goes back a long way. A self taught musician, he owes his learning to All India Radio and films of the golden era. Since then he has given over 10,000 performances, of which 1,000 are stage shows. 2016 marked 50 years of Hegde's singing career.
Dastaan commemorates the birth anniversary of Suman Hegde, his partner, wife and rock solid support for nearly four decades. The concert is a celebration of her life and a tribute to the love and inspiration she continues to give.
Mithila Hegde has been sharing the stage with her father since the age of 9. A filmmaker by profession, she will be performing with Hegde. The other vocalists are Ahmed Ali, a renowned Hindustani/Sufi artiste from Kolkata and Priya Yadav, a popular singer based in Bangalore. The band will comprise of a 15-member orchestra from Kerala, who have played for the likes of Yesudas, S. Janaki, and Unnikrishnan, to name a few.
The concert will be hosted by the multi-faceted Vasanthi Hariprakash, the much loved voice of the Breakfast show on RadioCity 91.1 fm.
