Abbas Cultural presents an exclusive Bharathanatyam Dance - Drama Festival for the consecutive 2nd year showcasing dance forms through specific themes.
This thematic dance festival serves the twin purpose of providing a platform for talented artists and simultaneously creating awareness among the audience, relating to various aspects of dance appreciation. The platform provides for experimentation and exploration of new horizons in dance forms.
Bharatanatyam is a major form of Indian classical Dance that originated in the modern-day region of Tamil Nadu. It is one of the eight widely recognized Indian classical dance forms and it expresses South Indian religious themes and spiritual ideas.
This Dance Drama festival has been organised during weekends of May 2023 at Vani Mahal (Mahaswamigal Hall) A/C, Chennai.
The Festival features astonishing thematic musical dance - drama performances by renowned dance schools run by senior gurus like Smt. Jayanthi Subramaniam (Darsanam Arts Creations production) Smt. Anitha Guha (Bharathanjali), Dr. Sheela Unnikrishnan (Sridevi Nrityalaya), Dr. Lakshmi Ramaswamy (Sri Mudhraalaya),Dr. S. Divyasena (Divyanjali School of dance), Sri Binesh Mahadevan (Akshaya Arts)H.N. Nandhini Suresh (Sri Sai Nrithyalaya), Dr. Himaja Athul Kumar, Dr. L Narendra (Bharatham Academy of Fine Arts), Smt. Vaidehi Harish (Nritya Samsrti), Smt. Priya Murle etc.
Dr.SHEELA UNNIKRISHNAN`s Sridevi Nrithyalaya Presents SRINIVASA KALYANAM - It is a unique Dance Drama that elaborately portrays the sequence of events leading to the grand wedding of Srinivasa and Padmavati Devi.
