Drum Clinic with Claus Hessler
Globally acclaimed drummer, educator, and one of the foremost authorities on modern drum technique, Claus Hessler, will be conducting a masterclass at the NCPA on August 14. With over three decades of international performing and teaching experience, he has helped countless students and drumming friends enhance their skills and develop their own musical identity, including Anika Nilles (Rush), Philo Tsoungui (Mars Volta), and David Garibaldi (Tower of Power), to name just a few.
Claus will dive into the foundations of drumming, from Moeller technique and free stroke to rudiments and contemporary drum set applications. He will also focus on daily routines and streamlining practice, including open-handed playing, bridging the gap between exercises and the development of real-world drum set applications to develop your own voice behind the instrument. Of course, his latest book release, “Collapsed Rudiments," will also be on the menu!
