About The Event
Fado, a traditional Portuguese music genre which pierces the heart with melancholy and yearning, will resound through the NCPA this August. Renowned artiste Sonia Shirsat will showcase the genre originating in 19th-century Lisbon, characterised by soulful songs revolving around saudade (longing), fate and love. The performance will take place in a traditional set-up in which Shirsat will be accompanied by Portuguese guitars. This emotional expression of music is meant to be a powerful yet heartwarming experience.
