Indian Classical Music since medieval times has been a fusion of different Gharanas or styles of Music. Gharanas were formed by maestros of previous generations who settled and started teaching students in a particular city or area for several generations. This gave birth to a 'Gharana' which came to be recognized by the name of the place or the Maestro and thus a unique style evolved.
Through this event they would be showcasing different styles, thus presenting to a music lover, a rare opportunity to hear contrasting styles of performance.
