
The Echoes of Benaras is a rare and prestigious musical evening celebrating the living continuity of one of India’s most revered classical music traditions. The concert brings together three generations of master musicians from the Banaras Gharana on a single stage, presenting a unique confluence of deep-rooted tradition and youthful innovation. The evening aims to celebrate the enduring legacy of the gharana, inspire younger audiences, and document a culturally significant performance that highlights the evolution of this musical lineage.
The concert will feature distinguished artistes from the Prasanna family, representing successive generations of the Banaras tradition. The line-up includes Pt. Rajendra Prasanna, SNA Awardee and renowned flute and shehnai maestro; Rajesh Prasanna, Yuva Puraskar National Awardee; Ritesh Prasanna, Surmani Awardee; and Rishal Prasanna, representing the youngest generation of the Banaras Gharana. Together, they will present an evening that reflects both the depth of classical heritage and its vibrant continuity across generations.
