There is no one in the world like Usha Uthup. Brimming with energy, a spring in her step, a twinkle in her eyes, Usha Uthup is a unique blend of the traditional and the modern and an inspiration for a lot of women growing up in the ’60s when Usha Uthup started as the nightclub singer in Kolkotta.
Clad in Kanjeevaram, Bindi intact, this heavy based voiced singer, started at Trinca’s in Kolkotta and went on to become one of India’s most loved, most talented musicians.
Here in a very special session, Usha Uthup’s life journey comes alive as she talks in her inimitable style about her first love, about life as a nightclub singer, about Bollywood and intersperses it with songs that define that journey.
