A mother and daughter share the stage in a rare musical pairing. Distinguished tabla artist Sangeeta Agnihotri accompanies her daughter, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Shubhra Agnihotri, in a performance shaped by their individual strengths and instinctive connection. Moving through Hindustani classical music, ghazals, folk traditions and soulful Indian melodies, the evening unfolds through live instrumentation and intimate exchanges between tabla and vocals.
Shubhra is a three-time recipient of the Lata Mangeshkar Alankaran Puraskaar and an ‘A’ Grade Artist of All India Radio and Doordarshan. Her performances and collaborations have also reached millions of listeners online.
Trained by her father and guru, Pandit Dinkar Mujumdar, Sangeeta has played the tabla since the age of 13. Her command of the esteemed Purab Baaj tradition brings depth and classical rigour to the performance, creating a meeting of two generations shaped by a shared musical heritage.
