ISHA RUMI: Beyond Form is a dramatic presentation of the 18 magnificent verse-stanzas of the Ishavasya Upanishad sung in the Dhrupad style by members of Sunaad. Running through its profound poetry like a nerve is the theme “Brahman alone is real; all else is unreal”. This universal truth finds resonance in the poetry of Maulana Jalaluddin Rumi’s celebrated Masnavi. Its evocative couplets set for the first time to Dhrupad music, and captivating stories translated from the Persian, express the message of truth and love that binds both these ancient texts together.
“So’ham asmi”... “He am I”... “Anal haq” ... “I am Truth” marks the end of the individual’s journey to the egolessness of surrender.
