The Jugnee Indo-Contemporary Dance Festival (25th April to 1st May 2016) is a celebration of dance and a platform that brings professional dancers, national and international teachers and dance enthusiasts under one roof. This performance will consist of short pieces by the finalists of our Emerging Artist Award. The Award recognizes the need for further training and international exposure for upcoming contemporary dancers in India. This year, 4 finalists chosen from applicants across the country, will perform as part of the Festival. The lucky winner will be awarded a fully-funded trip to study at Impulstanz, Vienna, the worlds leading contemporary dance festival.
The finale will be performed by Rahul Goswami, the winner of the Emerging Artist Award Jugnee 2015. He will perform in Animal Connection, a duet that investigates the relationship between the human and the animal, and contemplates over the blurring lines through bodies of three dancers in a domestic setting. Animal Connection is presented by Assemble Art Box.
