About The Event
Indo-Australian vocalist and composer Siyer gives traditional bhajans a fresh acoustic makeover, combining expressive vocals, personal storytelling and contemporary musicianship in an evening of devotion and discovery.
A familiar bhajan can hold new meaning each time it is sung. In ‘Light of Bhakti’, Indo-Australian singer and composer Siyer brings a modern acoustic sensibility to timeless compositions, accompanied by Lalit Talluri on flute, Kartikeye Ojha on guitar, Surel lngale on piano, Debajan Das on percussion, and Rushikesh Nene on bass.
The music moves between quiet contemplation and the shared energy of a bhajan gathering. Along the way, Siyer threads personal stories, spiritual reflections and original poetry through the performance, opening up the ideas and emotions behind each song.
A featured vocalist on Charu Suri’s GRAMMY®-nominated album Shayan, Siyer has performed more than 700 concerts and collaborated with Shankar Mahadevan, Udit Narayan and Sadhana Sargam. With sound by Honest Praveen, ‘Light of Bhakti’ offers an intimate evening where devotion meets an unplugged, present-day expression.
This performance is supported by Reliance Foundation.
