About The Event
Originating from the Mithila region, Madhubani Art Form is a spectacular geometrical painting with recurrent motifs such as fishes, birds, women, Lord Krishna, elephants and peacocks. It also applies the use of fingers, brushes, nib-pens, matchsticks and twig pens and natural dyes to the paintings.
Santhal Paintings have simple themes like wedding, harvest, music and daily rituals but the colors and artistic imagination bring alive the most mundane. These tribal paintings are drawn by a special community called Jadu Patua or magic painters in the Santhal Paragana district of Bengal/Bihar borders.
We present folk art workshops curated just for you by our star artist Preethi Dineshkumar ( @aaraas_amma). She is a self-taught folk artist who will clear all your folk art woes. Join us on:

Materials Required:
- Drawing Surface – A4 size drawing sheet with 300GSM (or Any thick drawing sheets)
- Drawing Materials – Pencil, Black marker pens, 0/00 Brush for linework, Flat brushes if available.
- Colouring materials - Acrylic colours or Sketch pens
- Others – Palette / a plate to mix colours, Bowl of water, Washcloth
