Marnie by Nico Muhly
Set in England, Marnie is a psychological thriller based on a novel by Winston Graham. A young woman makes her way through life by embezzling from her employers, before she moves on and changes her identity. When her current employer, Mark Rutland, blackmails her into a loveless marriage, Marnie is left with no choice but to confront the hidden trauma from her past. The production creates a fast-moving, cinematic world for this exhilarating story of denial and deceit, which also inspired a film by Alfred Hitchcock.
