A musical memoir by singer-performer Neeru, 'Mein Ghazal Hu'n,' traces her journey of becoming and finding her way back to music. Trained in Hindustani classical music, Neeru is an independent artist whose many creative pursuits eventually led her to the calling that gives her the deepest sense of purpose and joy.
Bringing together ghazals, semi-classical pieces, timeless Hindi film classics, and soulful contemporary melodies, the performance unfolds in the intimate charm of an old-school baithak. Each song becomes a milestone in her story, moving from longing to acceptance, from doubt to courage, and reflecting both her personal path as a woman, artist, and seeker and the universal search for one’s truest self.
For Neeru, music is a way of connecting deeply through every note she sings. 'Mein Ghazal Hu’n' is an invitation to listen, remember and believe that it is always possible to find your song.
The evening is presented as part of Shayarana: The Ghazal Experience, a two-day festival celebrating the ghazal in its many moods and expressions.
