Witness a moving performance by a young Sikh Kathak artist, Taranjot Singh, as he brings the vigorous rhythms, intricate footwork and expressive grace of the Jaipur Gharana to the stage.
A rising voice in the Indian classical dance space, Taranjot Singh brings together the lineage of Jaipur Gharana Kathak and his Sikh heritage in a traditional recital marked by rhythmic mastery, expressive storytelling and powerful stage presence. With over a decade of training and a Visharad in Kathak, he is currently pursuing advanced guidance under Pulkit Jain, a distinguished disciple of Jaipur Gharana exponent Pandit Rajendra Gangani.
One of India’s few Sikh Kathak artists, Taranjot was a finalist on Dance Deewane and is a two-time consecutive winner of the Punjab State Youth Festival. He has presented Kathak recitals at cultural events across India and conducts workshops for aspiring dancers throughout the country.
This evening celebrates the elegance, intricate footwork and vigorous rhythms of Jaipur Gharana Kathak while showcasing the individuality of a promising young soloist dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich heritage of Indian classical dance.
