Dance 2 at 7:45 PM - Under The Double Eagle – The Wadiyar Kings
Lakshmi Gopalaswamy and Sathyanarayana Raju, acclaimed Bharatanatyam exponents, have co-choreographed and will perform "Under the Double Eagle"(also known as "The Mysore Wadiyars"). This is a specialized dance production that pays tribute to the 600-year-old Wadiyar dynasty of Mysuru. The performance vividly brings to light the historic, cultural, and artistic patronage of the Wadiyar kings.
It also incorporates the rich Mysuru style of Bharatanatyam, blending original Carnatic compositions with historical narratives of the region’s public welfare, Dasara celebrations, and the arts.
