About The Event
Experience memory, lineage, and the sounds of home come alive through original ethno-jazz compositions by Odysseas Toumazou.
Cyprus-born guitarist and composer Odysseas Toumazou brings ‘Origins’ to the stage with compositions shaped by the people, places, traditions, and experiences that have defined his identity. Carrying the knowledge of the past into music that continues to evolve in the present, the performance is both deeply personal and universally resonant.
He is joined by Manos Stratis on double bass, whose work reflects the meeting of Middle Eastern and Western cultures, and Vassilis Philippou on percussion and vocals, whose music is deeply informed by the traditions of the Eastern Mediterranean and his exploration of sound and space.
Together, the trio transforms personal and cultural histories into a contemporary musical language, honouring where they come from while creating space for something new.
