Tales of Love, Longing and Memory
Dramatised Reading in Marathi
This programme brings to life two acclaimed Marathi short stories through a dramatised reading, celebrating the power of literature in performance.
'Maal', by Vidyadhar Pundalik, is an award-winning story set against the backdrop of the annual Wari pilgrimage to Pandharpur. Through delicate emotional undercurrents, it portrays the unspoken bond between Master and Kashibai, two pilgrims who meet every year, yet remain separated by circumstance, faith and restraint. Their quiet longing and affection paint a moving portrait of love, devotion and sacrifice.
'Marwa', by Asha Bage, is an exploration of memory, relationships and the complexities of human emotions. Echoing the mood of Raga Marwa, the story unfolds through introspection, revealing the unarticulated feelings and fragile connections that shape our lives.
