Session 3: 3:30 PM featuring Shadaj Godkhindi (Flute) | Shruti Bujarbaruah (Vocal)

Shadaj Godkhindi (Flute)
Born to an illustrious family of musicians, Shadaj is lucky to have Pandit Pravin Godkhindi as his father and Pandit Venkatesh Godkhindi as his grandfather. A child prodigy, he astonished his family when he would spend hours with electronic tablas and tanpuras. His acute taste for shruthi and laya was evident even as a toddler. Shadaj has been practicing the western drums under Late Babu Sukumar and Khanjira from Vinod Shyam Anoor for Carnatic layakaaris. Probably, the first flautist also to play drums and khanjira with equal finesse, Shadaj is carving a niche for himself as a promising musician. He has already been featured in numerous TV shows as well. He has performed in many prestigious music festivals across India.

Shruti Bujarbaruah (Vocal)
A keen student of Indian classical Music, Shruti is born and brought up in Assam in a musical family. She has completed both Sangeet Visharad and Sangeet Nipun under the Bhatkhande Sangeet Vidyapeeth, Lucknow. Apart from pure classical music, she also lends her harmonic voice to an array of semi-classical genres like Thumri, Dadra, Abhang, Bhajan, Ghazal etc.
Initially, she has been learning classical music from Pandit Vijay Koparkar in Pune. Currently she is obtaining valuable guidance from Smt. Pratima Tilak, an exponent of Jaipur-Atrauli Gharana. She secured gold medal in the S.N.D.T University, Maharashtra. She has also won 1st prize in “Pandit Govindrao Patwardhan Bandish Gayan Spardha”.
