Principal Conductor at the Deutsches Nationaltheater und Staatskapelle Weimar and Music Director of VoceAllOpera, Marco Alibrando conducts the SOI Chamber Orchestra.
The evening opens with St. Paul’s Suite by Holst, written for the students of St Paul’s Girls’ School in Hammersmith, London, where Holst served as “Music Master” from 1905 to 1934. The orchestra will also perform Mendelssohn's String Symphony No. 7, a remarkable symphony composed between the ages of 12 and 14, inspired by the Classical traditions of Joseph Haydn, Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
The programme also features a celebrated tenor, Angel Romero, winner of the Second and Zarzuela Prizes in Operalia 2024 which was hosted at the NCPA. He will perform beloved Italian vocal works by Gastaldon, Brogi, Di Lazzaro, Denza, Verdi, and Rossini, bringing the warmth, romance, and charm of the Italian vocal repertoire to Mumbai. Rich in lyricism and youthful energy, this promises to be an unforgettable evening of chamber orchestral and vocal music.
