"Soul India" Concept note
Aptly titled "Soul India" the concert features music from various corners of India, which is a unique blend of Film songs, Fusion, Ghazals, Thumri & Folk Music interwoven with each other.
The Concert begins withfolk, flows into Ghazals then seamlessly incorporates Film songs & dissolves into fusion Music. Soul India is indeed a meandering river giving shades of each style at every turn and twist. It also brings to light the many forms of Indian music through one of its most versatile proponents in Hariharan.
Soul India was premiered at Esplanade in Singapore on the 9th and 10th of November 2002. Since then he has performed all over India and Internationally. This presentation encompasses Hariharan's entire Legacy and repertoire of Music.
Hariharan's Son Akshay Hariharan, who is a music producer also sings with Mr.Hariharan in his Colonial cousin's songs along with a few Bollywood numbers.
" Soul India'' is a blend of Indian and Western instruments namely, Key Boards, Drums, Guitars, English Flute, Saxophone, Tabla, & Indian Flute.
A true listening pleasure and a soul-stirring experience.
