About The Event
Sounds of Rajasthan — A Sufi Evening
Step into an evening where the soul of Rajasthan meets the spirit of Sufi music.
Sounds of Rajasthan, a part of the Tajurba Baithak Series, brings to the stage the Langa Brothers, ninth-generation musicians carrying forward a remarkable musical legacy passed down through centuries. Rooted deeply in the folk traditions of Rajasthan, their music comes alive through powerful vocals and distinctive traditional instruments, including the Rajasthani sarangi, dholak, and khartal.
But this is not simply a folk performance.
The evening journeys from the raw, earthy sounds of Rajasthan into the poetry and abandon of Sufi music, traditional melodies, familiar Sufi favourites, and spirited rhythms woven together in the unmistakable Langa style.
Intimate, soulful, and wonderfully infectious, Sounds of Rajasthan is an evening designed to make you listen, feel, sing along, and perhaps even lose yourself in the rhythm.
A Sufi evening by the Langa Brothers. Nine generations of music. One unforgettable night.
Curated by Trilochan Kampli, tabla artist and curator of Tajurba.
