The term ‘Music Conference’ evokes nostalgia not only among classical musicians but also among the music lovers of our country. Almost half a century has passed when music festivals were presented for 2-3 long days or even one week, and, were referred to as ‘Music Conference’. Naturally, these conferences provided musicians the luxury to perform at a relaxed pace, giving the music lovers enchanting treasures of unforgettable musical experiences. With rapidly changing times, over the years the ‘conferences’ too had to undergo a transformation till they finally became extinct.
Inspired by the magic of such musical treats, Banyan Tree have revived this 2-day festival tradition with an all-new festival titled ‘The Indian Music Conference’ that aims at recreating the magic of the conferences of the bygone era. A unique aspect of this festival was launch in 2017 in the Suburban town of Navi Mumbai - Vashi where even regular music concerts are rare.
As is common knowledge, due to unavoidable traffic jams and long distances in metro cities, music lovers from these places find it difficult to attend music concerts. Needless to add, ‘The Music Conference’ in such towns will be not just a welcome addition to the overall cultural milieu, but also much-awaited dream come true for the music lovers residing in these places.
