The Rainbow Music Composers
Masters Who Wove Music in Poetry
18 October 2026 MusicOasis GraTribute Series
What happens when great poetry meets a great musical mind?
Some songs are remembered for their melodies. Some for their words. But the truly timeless ones become inseparable from both - where a poet's emotion finds its perfect musical expression.
MusicOasis presents The Rainbow Music Composers - a celebration of seven remarkable composers who gave Hindi film poetry some of its most unforgettable musical identities:
Hemant Kumar - the poetry of silence, tenderness and longing
Khayyam - elegance, restraint and soulful sophistication
Laxmikant-Pyarelal - melody, grandeur and extraordinary versatility
Naushad Ali - classical depth and timeless musical architecture
Roshan - delicate romance and the beauty of Hindustani tradition
Shankar-Jaikishan - orchestral brilliance and melodic imagination
Bappi Lahiri - rhythm, experimentation and a changing musical India
From intimate melodies to sweeping orchestration, from classical influences to modern sounds, these composers created music that did more than accompany poetry - they revealed its emotional soul.
Expect a carefully curated musical journey through some of the finest songs associated with these masters, along with stories, context and insights that invite us to listen beyond the song.
Because great music is not merely heard.
It is felt.
It is remembered.
And sometimes, it becomes a part of who we are.
