First Edition Arts (FEA) presents the first concert of an exciting new series of Classical concerts titled The Secret Masters Sessions. They begin with a Hindustani concert with the eminent Khayal vocalist and Guru, Pandit Arun Kashalkar.
Every quarter FEA will present a master Hindustani or Carnatic musician whose artistry, originality and virtuosity stand out in Indian classical music today. The series will feature the rare artistry of master musicians who are admired by connoisseurs and have a devoted following in select circles but have remained hidden from the mainstream view. They hope to connect these great musicians with a wider circle of sensitive and interested listeners and rasikas.
The Secret Masters Sessions and the four master musicians FEA will present over the year, will serve to reiterate the diverse and subtle musical ideas and aesthetic approaches that define Hindustani music. Each concert will also be a powerful reminder of the multiple ways in which this form of Indian art music can stimulate our minds and move our hearts.
Pandit Arun Kashalkar will be accompanied by Shruteendra Katgade on tabla and Anant Joshi on harmonium. His students Vishal Moghe and Mukul Kulkarni will accompany him on tanpura and supporting vocals.
