RAFIQUE & SHAFIQUE KHAN
Twin brothers, Rafique & Shafique Khan are distinguished sitarists of the Dharwad Gharana, representing the sixth generation of a celebrated musical lineage. Grandsons of the legendary Sitar Ratna Rahimat Khan, they received their musical training from their father, Ustad Abdul Karim Khan, and other eminent family gurus. Both are known for their lyrical Gayaki Ang, instrumental virtuosity and deep understanding of raga. Their acclaimed sitar jugalbandi is distinguished by remarkable synchronisation, intuitive musical dialogue and seamless interplay between melody, rhythm and improvisation.
