RAJA MIYA – VOCAL
Born into the illustrious lineage of the Agra Gharana, Ghulam Husnain Khan popularly known as “Raja Miya” carries forward one of India’s most celebrated musical traditions. Son of the noted vocalist Ustad Anwar Hussain Khan, he received rigorous taalim from Ustad Khadim Hussain Khan and Ustad Yunus Hussain Khan, inheriting the grandeur, depth and vigour that define the Agra style.
Known for his powerful voice, nom-tom alaap, bol-baant and evocative rendition of rare ragas, Raja Miya’s music reflects the rich legacy of maestros like Ustad Faiyaz Khan. A distinguished performer at prestigious festivals including Sawai Gandharva Music Festival and National Centre for the Performing Arts, he remains a revered torchbearer of the Agra Gharana tradition.
