Based on the 8 Prahars (time spans) of the day, this Indian Classical Music concert features morning ragas of the 2nd Prahar performed by various artistes.
RAVI CHARY – SITAR
Ravi Chary is a GRAMMY- and GIMA-nominated sitarist, composer, and educator known for his distinctive, expressive style that bridges Indian classical tradition with contemporary improvisation. Trained under Ustad Abdul Halim Jaffer Khan and Ustad Shahid Parvez, his playing reflects a refined balance of intricate raga grammar, tonal clarity, and fluid, genre-crossing phrasing. Drawing from early training in tabla and harmonium, his music is rhythmically nuanced and melodically expansive. A global performer at leading festivals, he is also the creator of innovative projects like Sitar Symphony and The Ravi Chary Crossing, blending classical depth with world-jazz sensibilities, redefining the modern sitar experience.
