Trumpeter Kishore Sodha, vocalist Ujjayinee Roy, and saxophonist Raj Sodha come together to celebrate the timeless melodies of R.D. Burman in an unforgettable evening of Bollywood classics.
What began as a chance meeting between legendary trumpeter Kishore Sodha and versatile vocalist Ujjayinee Roy evolved into a shared celebration of the music of R.D. Burman. ‘The RD Burman Magic’ brings together brass, voice, and the unmistakable spirit of Bollywood’s golden era.
Known fondly as India’s Trumpet King, Sodha has left his mark on the sound of Hindi cinema for over four decades, working with legends such as Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar and R.D. Burman, as well as leading contemporary composers. His trumpet has featured in thousands of songs and unforgettable tracks including O Maria, Saagar Kinare, and Bachna Ae Haseeno. He is joined by Ujjayinee Roy, a multilingual playback singer, composer and performer whose artistry spans film music, Indian classical, jazz, blues, rock, fusion, and international collaborations.
Joined by saxophonist Raj Sodha, the ensemble revisits some of R.D. Burman’s most iconic melodies through a rich interplay of brass, vocals, and live instrumentation. Celebrating the inventiveness, emotion, and exuberance that defined Pancham’s music, the show honours a legacy that continues to resonate across generations.
