About the movie
Jan Nissar Akhtar Khan (Amitabh Bachhan), a forest officer, is convicted for killing one of the three men who were cutting Sandalwood trees illegally while stopping them from doing so. Having him gone, his wife kills their daughter ad herself. This brings out a bitter and enraged Khan out of jail after completing his term. He, then, meets Vijay (Rajnikanth) who is trying to gun down three men who had destroyed his family. Khan decides to join him, but soon, finds out that the man for whose murder he was convicted, is still alive. He vows to kill him in the very courtroom he was convicted. Will he be able to do justice to the suffering and death of his wife and child? Will Vijay be able to avenge his family's death?
