PUBLIC NOTICE
The price cap of INR 200 on cinema tickets imposed by the State Government was stayed by the Honble High Court of Karnataka by order dated 23.09.2025 (W.P.No. 28146 of 2025).
In an appeal (W.A. No. 1623 of 2025), the Honble High Court has while upholding the stay on the price cap, issued the following directions in its order dated 30.09.2025.
Members of Multiplex Association of India (MAI) to maintain comprehensive and auditable records of all tickets sold, online as well as offline.
Regular reports to be submitted to the authorities which will be audited by an independent Chartered Accountant.
A refund processing plan to be prepared by MAI and approved by the relevant authorities as well as the Honble High Court.
In the event, the price cap as proposed by the State Government is upheld, the amounts collected in excess of the price cap is to be refunded to patrons or dealt with as directed by the Honble Court.

8. Pre-booked F&B to be collected from counter.
9. Recording films through mobile/camera is strictly prohibited and punishable.
