Alexandra Anna Daddario is an American actress best known for portraying the role of Annabeth Chase in the Percy Jackson film series and Lisa Tragnetti in the first season of HBO`s acclaimed TV series True Detective. She started her career with the soap opera `All My Children`, when she was just 16. Alexandra`s other memorable roles were seen in the movies Hall Pass (2011), Texas Chainsaw 3D (2013), and San Andreas (2015). Her bold and sexy avatars on-screen and off-screen got her the label of a `sex symbol` by the American bi-weekly magazine `Rolling Stone`.
Personal Life
Alexandra Daddario was born in the city of New York, USA, on March 16, 1986. Her father, Richard Daddario, was a prosecutor and former head of the NYPD counter terrorism unit, while her mother, Christina Richard Daddario, was a lawyer. She has a sister Catherine, and a brother Matthew, who is an actor as well. Her parental grandfather Emilio Daddario was a congressman from Connecticut. Alexandra`s ancestry involves a mix of Irish, English, Italian and Czech. She did her schooling from the Brearley school and the Professional Children`s school. She did attend the Marymount Manhattan college and has received training in the Meisner acting technique for several years.
TV Career
Alexandra made her acting debut with the TV series All My Children. She went on to appear in more than 40 episodes of the TV series. In the next few years, she guest-starred in TV shows such as Law & Order (2004, 2006, & 2009), Conviction (2006), The Sopranos (2006), and Life on Mars (2009). It was in 2009 that she bagged a recurring role on the TV show White Collar (2009-11), essaying the character of Kate Moreau. However, one of the most prominent roles of her career came with the TV series True Detectives. Essaying the role of Lisa Tragnetti, the actress gained attention in spite appearing only four episodes of the show. In subsequent years she appeared on TV shows such as Married (2014), American Horror Story: Hotel (2015), and Workaholics (2016).
Movie Career
After appearing in a couple of TV shows Alexandra made her feature film debut with the movie The Squid and the Whale in 2005. In the next few years she appeared in minor roles in movies such as The Hottest State (2006), The Attic (2007), and Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience. However, claim to fame came with the role of Annabeth Chase in the Hollywood adventure movie Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (2010) based on Rick Riordan`s best-selling teen books. She followed this up with roles in movies such as Bereavement (2010) and Hall Pass (2011).
In 2013, she appeared in the lead in the slasher movie Texas Chainsaw 3D, which was the seventh installment in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise. The film was a commercial success. In the same year, she reprised her the role of Annabeth Chase in Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters (2013). Alexandra then starred in the zombie comedy flick Burying the Ex (2014) which was one of the movies that participated in the 2014 Venice Film Festival. The following year, the actress was seen in the role of Blake Gaines in the disaster flick San Andreas (2015) alongside Dwayne Johnson, which was one of the highest-grossing Warner Bros movies in 2015. She next played a supporting role in the 2016 romantic drama film The Choice that was based on Nicholas Spark`s novel of the same name. Her 2017 release includes the movie Baywatch directed by Seth Gordon.
