A former scientist at CDRI, Lucknow, Anil Rastogi is an Indian film, television and theatre actor, who started his acting career on the stage. Having performed in more than six hundred plays, some of his notable stage performances are Panchhi Jaa, Panchhi Aa, Rustam Sohrab, Taj Mahal Ka Tender, Panch Kanya.
After a successful theatre career, the actor paved his way to Hindi entertainment industry and made his small screen debut in the Udaan in 1989. He has also starred in television serials like Samvidhaan (2014), Na Bole Tum Naa Maine Kuch Kaha (2013) Razia Sultan (2015) and Dariba Diaries (2014-2015).
In films, 2005 release Main, Meri Patni Aur Woh marked the actor`s silver screen debut, followed Ishaqzaade in 2012, where he played the role of protagonist`s grandfather. His performance in the film, alongside Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chapra, is one his most remembered performances of his career. He has also played strong supporting roles in political-dramas like Gaalib (2018), Mulk (2018), The Accidental Prime Minister (2019) and Nakkash (2019).
