A veteran star in the South Indian film industry, Bhavya has been a part of as many as 200 feature films in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. She debuted in the film Prema Parva (1983) and moved on to act in lead roles in various films like Kallu Veene Nudiyitu (1983), Baddi Bangaramma (1984) and Nee Bareda Kadambari (1985), which catapulted her to the epitome of her career. From the 2000s, Bhavya abandoned lead roles and switched over to character roles playing supporting actor in films like Kitty (2002), Amritadhare (2005), Sajini (2007), Gooli (2008), and Gokula Krishna (2012) among many others. She also starred in the daily television series Durga before she was associated with Raja Loves Radhe (2018).
