A Pakistani actor and singer, Fawad Afzal Khan rose to fame after starring in the critically acclaimed international movie Khuda Kay Liye. He then went on to appear in successful Pakistani serials like Dastaan (2010), Humsafar (2011) and Zindagi Gulzar Hai (2012).
Fawad Khan broke into the Hindi film industry with the 2014 comedy drama film Khoobsurat
, for which he bagged a Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut.
Born as Fawad Afzal Khan in Karachi, Pakistan, Fawad spent parts of his childhood in Greece, Manchester, and Saudi Arabia. When he was just 10, his family shifted to Lahore, Pakistan and he did his schooling from Lahore Grammar School. Fawad then completed his graduation from National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences, Lahore. While in college, he learned to play the guitar and joined Entity Paradigm, an alternative rock band in Lahore. Formed in 2000, the band resolved in 2007.In 2009 the band made an official comeback, but in 2012, Fawad left it to pursue a career in acting.
On 12th November 2005, after a courtship of eight years, Fawad Khan tied the know with Sadaf Khan. They together own a clothing brand called SILK by Fawad khan. The couple is blessed with two children, a son named Ayaan Khan, born in 2008 and a daughter, born in 2016.

The movie which deals with the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks on the Muslims living in America, gained critical acclaim across the globe, with the famous Indian critique Rajeev Masand saying, “Khuda Kay Liye is a brave and inherently honest film that addresses pertinent issues like Islamic fundamentalism, the status of women in contemporary Islam, the consequential effects of 9/11 on Muslims in America, and the divide in Pakistani society between the liberals and the extremists.” This movie established Fawad as not only a good looking star but as someone with immense talent and potential towards the craft.
Seven years after his maiden film in Pakistan, in 2014, Fawad broke into the Bollywood industry with the romantic drama Khoobsurat
. Loosely based on 1980 film of the same name, the movie starred Sonam Kapoor
and Fawad Khan in the lead. Although, the film performed much better internationally than domestically, Fawad was welcomed in the Indian entertainment industry with highly positive reviews for his portrayal of Yuvraj Vikram Singh Rathore, the prince of Sambhalgarh.

Post making a forgettable appearance in Pakistani TV series Jutt and Bond, Fawad appeared in a period drama Dastaan. In 2012, he won the Lux Award for Best Actor for essaying Asher Hussain in a popular drama Humsafar. He further featured in the soap opera Zindagi Gulzar Hai as Zaroon Junaid. The serial earned critical acclaim, with Fawad Khan winning the Best Actor award at the Hum Awards and Best Actor satellite at Lux Style Awards. Following this, he starred in TV films like Behadd, and Armaan.
