Gerard Jugnot is a French film director, producer, actor, and screenwriter. Jugnot is of the founders of the comedy troupe Le Splendid in the 1970s along with his high school friends Christian Clavier, Thierry Lhermitte, and Michel Blanc. This group adopted a number of its stage hits for the cinema and was extremely successful in films like Les Bronzes (1978) and Le Pere Noel est une ordure (1982).

Jugnot gained international fame for his lead role in the film Les Choristes. People all over the world loved his performances. Jugnot`s recent projects include the film The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir.
